Harvest Hybrid Seed Company

Harvest Hybrid Seed Company was established in 2010, to
cater for seed supply for sister companies within the group,
and to participate in the seed industry in the country.
With these clear targets, the company started its operations,
investing in hybrid seed production rather than open pollinated
varieties were a challenge, but with our technical
know-how, long previous experiences and strong worldwide
connections, the company managed to make achievements
in short period of time.
The company currently produces two hybrids of main
crops, Sorghum Hybrid “MR White”, and Sunflower Hybrid
“Sirena”. These two hybrids were the results of our fruitful
collaborative programs with Australia, and Turkey.
We also have a strong co-operation program with Agriculture
research Corporation (ARC) where we started to produce
one of their recently released hybrid sunflower that in
addition to the Foundation Seed Production Program for
newly released sesame seed. The same program is being
carried out with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of
Khartoum, mainly in Guar seed production.
The company runs an intensive testing & trailing program
where we screen for best performing hybrid to be selected
for local production. A variety of seed sources from different
countries are involved in this testing program, including
materials from Australia, Egypt, Thailand, Turkey, and South
Africa
